San Diego Engagement Locations...
Beach, city, field? Indoor, outdoor, mix? There are a ton of different options when picking the perfect spot to take your engagement photos. The most important is what makes you feel the most comfortable! Make a decision that you have a passion for, somewhere that expresses you both or somewhere/thing you both love doing together. Why not make it playtime! These photos are something that will last beyond any trend of today’s current scene; choose a location you will look back on and know that it was the perfect spot.
Here are a few of our favorite engagement spots:
•Birdrock- If you are one for palm trees and beach vibes, Birdrock is just what you are looking for. Quaint shops and a small town feel there are plenty of different brick walls and coffee shops to stop in and take photos of your day to day life. The side streets offer a tropical feeling with large Palm trees stretching for miles.
•Scripps Pier- Most engagement couples favorite spot has to be Scripps Pier. The view from Caroline’s Sea Side Café after hours gives you a top view overlooking the beach with a view of the La Jolla coastline. At low tide you can walk to Blacks Beach and stand below the canyon cliffs, which make for distinct backdrops for beach photos.
•Rancho Penasquitos Park – Engagement photos here are amazing at sunset. There are so many places to explore when taking engagement photos here. The convenient location right off the I- 15 and 56 freeway makes this a very popular spot for many coming from Riverside. The further back you go, the more beautiful it becomes. Large oak trees and brush surround you as you make you follow the winding river that eventually leads to a few different waterfalls at the end of the 5-mile hike.
•Mission Trails- In the fall this place is filled with orange and red colors making you feel like you are in Vermont when still right here in San Diego! The seasons here offer completely different looks and feels, so whenever you go back the scene appears to always be different. There are wooden fences and huge trees with dirt paths. If you are someone who loves open space and fields Mission trails is for you!
•Marian Bear Park- Similar to Mission Trails, Marian Bear is located right off the 52 freeway in the San Clemente Canyon and offers tons of trails and colors. There are over 460 acres to roam which make this spot a photographer’s dream! The location is so conveniently located, you can squeeze in a field look and make it to La Jolla for sunset as well.
•Temecula wineries- There is no better way to start an engagement session than with a bottle of wine. Weddings in Temecula are BEAUTIFUL! And is where a majority of our weddings are, however engagement photos through the vineyards are gorgeous. There is a variety of scenery as you head toward Lake Skinner and have the rolling hills as your backdrop.
• Laguna Mountains- A very underrated destination is the Laguna Mountains located off the 8 in San Diego. Upon traveling about an hour from downtown you are isolated in the middle of huge pine trees of Cleveland National Forrest. For those who are attracted to road tripping through mountain ranges and cooler temperatures, consider a trip up here to take engagement photos.
•Poway Park- located under big shady trees with grass fields, Old Poway Park is rustic and historical. The old railroad tracks and pathways make this location feel like you are in the country side away from the bustling city.
•Balboa Park- There are so many engagement idea photos when choosing Balboa Park. The architecture here is insane and the bridge that has a view of downtown is incredible. The cactus gardens and surrounding landscape make this spot so diverse, making you feel like you had your engagement pictures taken at two different location
