Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A: Our love for traveling and wine inspired our venue location. Avensole winery not only has great wine but the views are breathtaking! We knew almost immediately after visiting that we wanted to get married there. To complement the venue we went with elegant and rustic decor and settled on a soft neutral color palette.
Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A: We really leaned on our florist for decor and we're so glad we did! Fresh floral arrangements were incorporated throughout our venue from the ceremony to cocktail hour and the reception. To add an extra touch and fun photo op for our guests we rented giant marquee letters to spell out love on the reception patio.
What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A: Our bouquets were an arrangement of neutral white, blush and pink florals with a beautiful mix of succulents and greenery made to match the rustic winery setting.
Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A: We loved having live music during our ceremony! It really added that extra touch and made our wedding feel more elegant and sophisticated.
Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A: I really wanted to go with something elegant and sophisticated, yet whimsical all at the same time. My dress was a beautiful fit and flair gown with removable sleeve straps by Essence of Australia. It was really important to me to stay true to my everyday style, so I decided on two hair looks. For our ceremony I wanted a hairstyle to match how elegant my dress was, so I went with loose Hollywood curls. After the ceremony, I decided to rock my signature hair style the high pony!
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A: My We met during our first year of college in our math class and ended up having mutual friends. After talking for a few weeks we finally went out on our first date and we've been together ever since. 9 years strong!
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A: Our ceremony! We choose to write our own vows and it was so special.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?
A: Have fun with it! If you can, carve out time after the ceremony for both of you to be alone with one another to take it all in.
