Sunset Cliffs engagement photos - Mary + George
George & Mary - “We actually met at a coffee shop in Costa Mesa. A casual conversation turned into us having lunch, and being together literally since the day we met.” Cheers to casual conversations and cheers to inseparable love.
Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique?
A: Our biggest love that we share is traveling. So far we've been to 15 countries together! Traveling has helped us grow and learn new things about each other (both pleasant and unpleasant new things, haha!) We have plans to go to Portugal, Spain and Morocco on our honeymoon.
Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)
A: I knew George was the one over time as I realized how grounded I felt with him. I am usually living with my head in the clouds, and with George I am also grounded and supported. We balance each other really well. We did have aha moments, especially when we traveled to Mexico together on a whim within the first few months of us dating. We had such an incredible time during that trip and it set the tone for us to make more travel plans together. We have a nice souvenir of our faces on a tequila bottle as a keepsake from out first time traveling together...something we'll laugh at when we're older!
Q: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?
A: Our proposal happened in Maui, Hawaii. We went on a family trip with my family, and it was definitely a surprise! Our family and friends were anticipating it as they all knew, but George managed to keep it hidden very well! In fact, he hid that he had 'Mary will you marry me?' tattooed on his leg for 3 days. We went for a walk near out hotel in Maui and he pretended to have a leg cramp, then got down on one knee and showed me that tattoo while proposing. It was definitely memorable to say the least!
Q: We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!
A: George did an amazing job choosing my ring. It's from Brilliant Earth, as finding an eco-friendly diamond was important to us. The setting is shaped like a sun, which holds a personal story behind it for us both.
Q: Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?
A: I'm excited for it all to come together, marry George, and celebrate with our friends and family. One thing that has stood out to me during the wedding planning process is that George and I make an excellent team, especially while working under pressure. We both are juggling demanding jobs while wedding planning, and we've worked together to make decisions while taking into account things we both like during the process.
