Engagement session straight out of a movie
We will forever be obsessing over Ren’s & Krystal’s engagement. Their engagement session felt like the scene straight out of a movie. With winter in full effect, we took full advantage of an empty beach and choppy water with both of them rushing into the white wash. Take a look below at a few personal favorites.
As always, Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by our wedding blog and take a look at our latest engagement session! We hope to connect soon!

Beach engagement photos can be absolutely stunning, capturing the natural beauty of the seaside and the love between the couple. Here are some ideas and tips for creating beautiful beach engagement photos:
1. Timing is Everything:
Consider shooting during the golden hour (early morning or late afternoon) when the lighting is soft and warm. We love incorporating a few different looks, each of our engagement sessions lasts about an hour :)
2. Choose the Right Beach:
Opt for a beach with a variety of landscapes such as sandy shores, rocky areas, and perhaps some dunes. This will add diversity to your photos. San Diego has the best beaches for San Diego engagement photos or proposals. Make sure to reach out about our favorite beaches in San Diego.
3. Wardrobe Choices:
Light, flowy fabrics work well on the beach. Think about coordinating your outfits, but avoid overly matching. Ask us about our inspiration, we have created a full style guide we would love to share with you!
4. Barefoot Bliss:
Consider going barefoot or wearing sandals. This enhances the relaxed, natural feel of beach photos. From the photos above, you can see how we love movement and if you are up for it, jumping in the water. Letting lose and having fun makes for the most organic photos.
5. Props:
Bring along props like a picnic blanket, beach umbrella, or even a surfboard. These can add interest and variety to your photos. Our personal favorite, a bottle of champagne or case of beer and just enjoying a couple drinks.
6. Natural Poses:
Encourage natural and candid poses. Walking along the shoreline, holding hands, or looking into each other's eyes can make for beautiful shots. All of our photos come with a bit of direction but we truly capture the essence of a couple to document the true spark between you both.
7. Incorporate Water:
Use the water's edge as a backdrop. Waves, reflections, and splashes can add dynamic elements to your photos. As mentioned, we love when couples go for it and run off into the break.
8. Engagement Ring Shots:
Get creative with shots of the engagement ring. Incorporate beach elements like seashells or write your engagement date in the sand.
9. Sunset Silhouettes:
Experiment with capturing silhouettes against a stunning beach sunset. This can create a romantic and dramatic effect.
10. Seaside Seclusion:
Capture intimate moments away from the crowds. Find a quieter spot where the couple can relax and be themselves.
11. Casual and Formal Shots:
Mix casual shots with more formal ones. A combination of playful and serious expressions can provide a well-rounded set of photos.
12. Editing Style:
Consider a light and airy editing style to enhance the beachy, romantic atmosphere. Soft colors and a touch of warmth can complement the setting.
13. Engagement Announcement:
If you plan to use these photos for engagement announcements, leave some negative space in a few shots where you can add text.
14. Have Fun:
Most importantly, have fun! Genuine smiles and laughter make for the best photos.
Remember to communicate with your photographer about your vision and preferences, and don't be afraid to get creative. Beach engagement photos offer a wonderful opportunity to capture the joy and romance of this special time in your lives.
